Knomi Sculpture

A belief is just a thought you keep thinking ~ Abraham-Hicks

Your inner critic is simply a part of you that needs more self-love.

― Amy Leigh Mercree

Knomi (know-me) is the name I gave my inner critic: that voice inside my head that often prevents me from being my best self. It is part of me and it is Not me; I am the one hearing the voice and the one who decides to listen or not. The more aware I am of this voice the more power I have.  As I've gotten to know 'her', I have realized we all have many voices speaking within us; sometimes they are helpful but often they can be harmful. The awareness of who is actually speaking is very important – is it YOUR truth, or thoughts that came from outside of you … a belief you’ve assimilated from a family member, a friend, an advertisement, or from your communities?

When we are aware of our thoughts and notice how we talk to ourselves we can choose which messages to listen to and which to let go.

When we are aware enough to pause and ask ourselves questions, such as "Do I believe that?”  “Is it true?”  “Where did that idea/belief come from?” We are better able to filter out what doesn’t serve us and transform how we talk to ourselves.

By getting to Know your shadow side (the part of your personality you are unaware of or do not want to admit to having) you can begin to understand yourself better and hopefully find more compassion for yourself and live a more authentic life.

When we are aware of our inner voices, we can choose to believe the messages or not…

The process of creating and engaging with a Knomi sculpture allows you the space and time to go within and discover what’s going on in your mind, providing a way to create space between the voice and the part of you that is hearing the voice. That space is what allows you time to investigate if you want to hold on to the messages.

The goal of this offering is to guide you through the process of creating your own Knomi sculpture, either just for the fun of it or as a way to dive into your inner work. You are invited to approach this process consciously or unconsciously; you can start by making a sculpture and then determine how it relates to you, or design the sculpture with a particular voice or personality trait in mind that you are already conscious of and want to portray.

Private lessons, corporate events, and group workshops available - lets discuss what best suits your needs…

currently workshops are held in-person in Portland, OR.

It’s difficult to see your thoughts when you are in your thoughts.

KNOMI  🌀 A Mindful Sculpture Retreat

You’re invited to a space of self-discovery through mindfulness, gentle movement, and sculpture!

Join us for a creative, heart-opening journey where you’ll tune into your body to better understand your mind. Through mindfulness, somatic yoga, group conversation, and hands-on art making, we’ll explore the stories that shape us—and play with which ones we want to keep or let go.

We’ll move slowly, rest often, and make space for laughter, reflection, and connection.

No art experience needed—this isn’t about creating something pretty, but about uncovering something real.

Together, we’ll bring our “inner critics” to life in sculpture form, giving shape (and maybe even humor) to the voices that hold us back, so we can see them with new eyes and start to rewrite the story.

What You’ll Leave With:

  • A physical representation of your inner critic

  • Insight into where your limiting beliefs came from—and how to shift them

  • Tools for compassionate self-dialogue

  • A deeper connection with yourself, your creativity, and community
